Boosting Potentials: Free VA Skills Training for the Youth of Tungkop

At Dilaab Digitals, we believe in the power of opportunity, especially when it comes to equipping young people with the skills they need to thrive in the digital economy.

In line with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, our Human Resource Department in coordination with Team Elysium proudly launched “Boosting Potentials: Free VA Skills Training for the Youth of Tungkop”, a community-driven initiative that ran every Saturday in August 2025.

Bridging the Gap

Many young individuals face barriers to accessing online job opportunities due to limited training, mentorship, or exposure. This project was designed to respond to that gap by providing hands-on, skills-based virtual assistant (VA) training to the youth of Tungkop, Minglanilla.

Through this initiative, participants gained foundational knowledge and practical experience that prepare them for careers in remote work, supporting inclusive economic growth within the community.

Training for Tomorrow’s Opportunities

Over the course of four interactive sessions, our team shared key skills needed for a career in online work:

  1. Mind Setting and Introduction to Virtual Assistance. Facilitated by CEO Jan Dale Carlo Catalonia and CRO Jellianne Canonigo, this session focused on mindset, professionalism, and the VA role in the digital workforce.

  2. Email, Calendar Management, and Data Entry. Led by Learning and Development Officer Jane Aive Kho, participants learned essential administrative and organizational skills vital for remote jobs.

  3. Canva 101 and Caption Writing. Marketing Officer Angela Rose Lawag guided attendees through design basics and content creation, empowering them to communicate effectively online.

  4. Portfolio and Resume Making. Team Leader Myles Cirunay and Team Member Dawsen Enario from Team Elysium helped youth showcase their skills and prepare professional portfolios to attract future opportunities.

Empowering the Youth of Tungkop

The program benefited 20 eager participants, all of whom engaged actively in each session, building their confidence and digital skills along the way.

At the completion ceremony, participants received a VA starter kit courtesy of the Sangguniang Kabataan – Tungkop, marking the beginning of their journey toward online careers.

Looking Ahead

Through Boosting Potentials, Dilaab Digitals continues its mission to empower local communities by equipping the next generation with the tools, training, and mentorship needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital world. This is a step toward inclusive growth, meaningful work, and brighter futures for the youth of Tungkop.
